10 Tips To Go Green at Your House Over Winter

1.  Change your light bulbs to Energy Efficient Light Bulbs.

2.  Unplug any unused electronics when not using them, especially the T.V., or plug electronics into a power strip and turn them off when not using them.  Electronics still use electricity when they are still plugged in.

3.  During the day open blinds or drapes and let the sunlight in, instead of turning on lights.

 4. Change your light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs.  You will save money on your energy bill and help stop carbon dioxide from going into the air.

5.  Wash clothes in cold water, a lot of energy is used to heat the water used to clean clothes.

 6. Buy an electric snow blower instead of a gas one.  This helps reduce carbon dioxide from going into the air.  Plus electric snow blowers cost about the same as electric.  Or if you really want to help carbon dioxide levels, just shovel the snow yourself.

 7.  Start you car only a few minutes before you drive in the winter.  Anything over five minutes is wasting gas and polluting the air more than you should.

8.  Check your windows and doors for any leaks.  Cold air coming inside your house makes the air heater work harder and cost you more money over the winter.

 9.  Put a towel by sliding glass doors to stop the cold air from coming inside.  This will help make your home warmer and your heater will not have to work as hard.

10.  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: It cannot be said enough but recycle as many items as you can instead of throwing them away.  Reuse items more than once or create something new out of an old item.  Reduce the amount of things you throw away by buying things that do not use as much packaging.

Hopefully these tips help and I know they will save you money over time.

Now is the time for Illinois and the nation to change! Please write to anyone in congress to start building Solar and Wind Turbine Farms.  By doing this Illinois can create thousands of jobs for Illinois citizens.  These farms will also create clean energy for Illinois citizens to use, and any extra energy can be sold to other states surrounding Illinois.  If we do this, Illinois can start to get out of the BILLIONS of debt that it is in.  If you care about this state at all, you will write to someone to try to make a change.  We need to do this NOW, not Ten Years from now that I keep hearing from the congress.  Please do your part and tell all your friends to write to a congressman or woman.  The time to act is now, the time to do something was yesterday.

Every 16 light bulbs changed to energy efficient bulbs is like taking one car off the road.  Change your Light bulbs today and help make a different in Global Warming and carbon dioxide pollution.

Thank you for checking out the website.  The purpose of this organization is to change the way people think about the planet. This site is trying to get people to help stop Global Warming, by changing their thinking. On this site I hope to show you products that you can use around your house or at work.  The products I put on the website are products that are trying to help the environment or are products created by items that we would normally throw away.

500,000 Barrels of OIL a DAY could be saved if every American household changed their light bulbs to energy efficient ones, and by turning the thermostat down in the winter and up in the summer by just a couple degrees.  Think about that the next time you go to get gas for your car.
